    The Position

    Oversight of all operational program elements within assigned division; for attention to health and welfare of the clients served; and for the implementation of fiscal, operational, and programmatic procedures to ensure compliance with applicable accreditation regulations.  Performs all duties in accordance with the philosophy of the Center For Discovery, as expressed in policies, philosophies, and procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree or Doctorate required.
    • Licensure 
    • Two years experience in residential or hospital setting
    • At least two years management experience required

    Responsibilities

    • Oversees facility’s clinical and administrative operations to uphold established mission, vision, core values and strategic plan of Center For Discovery, and ensure their proper execution. 
    • Provides leadership and direction within the Division to assure that organizational standards and policies are maintained and followed.  This includes, but is not limited to, Joint Commission facility standards and staff training requirements.
    • Conducts annual performance reviews of Program Directors, and review annual performance reviews of facilities’ staff conducted by Program Directors.
    • Oversees Program Directors to improve and continue their overall facility budgetary strategy.  Focusing on maintaining appropriate expenditure and reduction of loss from operations.  Ensures that controllable expenses and facility work hours do not exceed budget; variances may be allowed within reason.
    • Guides and directs regional personnel, including staffing, orientation/assimilation, development, delegation, performance management, and compensation matters.  Provides guidance or is made aware by Program Director and/or HR staff regarding work performance or employee relations concerns including termination requests of tenured and/or key personnel.  Provides direct oversight in review and approval of termination requests of clinical staff.  Confers with HR for support and direction.
    • Provides oversight of the hiring of clinical staff, including interns who will have a regular caseload, Facility Administrators, and medical positions throughout the region.  Once potential candidates have been selected by the Program Director, the Regional Director works to facilitate the hiring process by conducting secondary interviews and overseeing the negotiation of the job offer with the candidate.
    • Reviews, approves, and forwards to next level for approval per established protocol, the following compensation matters:
      • Promotion requests and applicable salary adjustments of clinical staff
      • Merit increases of staff that is does not comply with current HR guidelines
      • Equity adjustments and bonus requests of regional personnel 
    • Mentors and guides Program Directors and division treatment teams in order to expand their capabilities and build management and supervisory depth in the organization.
    • Provides oversight and attention to the reduction of turnover within the division with particular focus on Program Director, Facility Administrator, and Therapist retention.
    • Serves as representative for Center For Discovery by collaborating with the Clinical Outreach Representatives to establish and maintain positive relationships. Interacts with outside eating disorder, substance abuse and mental health treatment programs and providers at all levels of care to establish referral relationships, educate regarding our treatment approach and facilitate continuity of care for shared clients. Responsible for meeting assigned regional based marketing goals.
    • Collaborate with National Director of Operations to set quarterly goals for self and program.
    • Works with Program Directors and facility treatment team personnel to address conflict situations as they arise in the division. These conflicts may be a result of disputes within the treatment teams or client related concerns with referring providers. The Asst. Director of Operations serves in the role of mediator and negotiator and assures thorough communication throughout the resolution process. 
    • Participates with the CEO, COO, CFO and National Director of Operations in the development of the organization's strategic plan in the Division.
    • Evaluates needs and recommends opportunities for business development and expansion in the Division.
