    The Position

    This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position located at our home office in Los Alamitos, CA. We are seeking a results-oriented Benefits Specialist who will be responsible for managing the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-and long-term disability, 401(k) plan, and leaves of absences.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or finance required
    • Three to five years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration required
    • Strong knowledge of current labor rules and regulations
    • Familiarity with various types of incentives and benefits
    • Extensive knowledge of HRIS, specifically Paycom, and MS Office
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
    • Positive attitude, self-motivator, and ability to work both independently and on a team

    Responsibilities

    • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
    • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data
    • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
    • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility
    • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes
    • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
    • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
    • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
    • Ensures compliance with Affordable Care Act requirements including benefit eligibility and required reporting.
    • Audits 1095-C annually
    • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
    • Manages the open enrollment process.
